Tuorla has given teaching in gardening since 1977. Continuous co-operation with gardening entrepreneurs and organisations furthers the development of the sector both regionally and at the national level. The students also have continuous contacts with gardening experts operating outside the school. Education includes e.g. learning at work.
The students who have the basic degree of gardening economy are well prepared for different tasks within the gardening industry or for working as private entrepreneurs. A student who aims to become a gardener can specialise either in maintenance and building of green areas, cultivation of garden plants or floristic.
The course which aims at the vocational degree of park gardener has the objective of deepening the student's knowledge in maintaining green areas and of preparing him/her for designing yard areas and building gardens.
