The Administrative Organisation

The organisation of the municipal union for Countryside College of Southwest Finland

The municipal union for Countryside College of Southwest Finland was founded in 1997. The current organisation, which is divided into different sectors, became valid in the beginning of 1999.

The highest executive power in the municipal union lies in the hands of the union assembly. Each member municipality, i.e. Kaarina city, Paimio city and Paimio municipality, have six representatives in this assembly. The union assembly elects the members of the union cabinet which acts as the enforcing body of the municipal union. Three members are elected from each member municipality, and a personal vice-member is also elected for each member.

The principal of the institute acts as the manager of the municipality union. In terms of organisation, the activities are divided into five sectors: forest, farming, gardening, services and administration. The first three sectors are actual teaching branches. Services and administration are supportive functions.

In all, the institute employs 91 people of which 63 work in Tuorla and 28 in Paimio.
